“And of Ibraheem who fulfilled all that”(53:37)
“We follow the creed of Ibraheem the monotheist and he was never an idol-worshiper” (2:135).
“Ibraheem was neither a Jew nor a Christian. He was a monotheist who was at peace, and he was not an idol-worshiper”. (3:67).
“The truth has come from God, and you shall follow the creed of Ibraheem, the monotheist and he was not an idol-worshiper” (3:95).

CHILDHOOD AND EARLY LIFE: (21:51)

“Indeed We bestowed aforetime on Ibraheem his (portion of) guidance, and We Were Well Acquainted with him (as to his Belief in the Oneness of Allah etc)”

IBRAHEEM’S (A.S.) HATRED FOR THE IDOLS/STATUES:

Surah Anbiya 21:
51. “And indeed We gave Ibraheem aforetime his rectitude, and We were aware of him (his eligibilities).”
52. “When he said to his father and his people: ‘What are these images (and lifeless statues) unto which you pay devotion’?”
55. “They said: ‘Have you brought to us the truth, or are you one of the triflers’.”
56. “He said: ‘Nay! But your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth Who originated them, and I am unto this (fact) one of the witnesses’.”
58. “So he broke them into pieces, (all) except the chief of them, that haply they may return to it.”
59. “They said: ‘Who has done this with our gods? Surely he is (one) of the unjust’.”
60. “They said: ‘We heard a youth making mention of them, who is called Ibraheem’.”
66. “(Abraham) said: ‘Do you then worship, besides Allah, that which profits you nothing, neither hurts you?”
67. “Fie on you and on what you worship besides Allah! Have you then no sense?”
68. “They said: ‘If you would do aught, burn him, and help your gods’.”

BREAKS THE IDOLS: (37:92-96)

“Will you not eat of the offering before you? “What is the matter with you that you do not speak?”
Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand.
Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him).
He said: “Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved?
“But Allah has created you and your handwork!”

Talking To People (41: 52-56)

“What are these statues to which you are devoted?” They said, “We found our fathers worshippers of them.” He said, “You were certainly, you and your fathers, in manifest error.” They said: “Have you brought us the truth, or are you one of those who play about?” He said, “[No], rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who created them, and I, to that, am of those who testify.”

ALLAH SAVES IBRAHEEM (A.S.) FROM THE FIRE:

They said, “Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!”
(This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! (37:98)

“O fire, be coolness and safety upon Ibraheem.”
“And they intended for him harm, but We made them the greatest losers.” (21:70)

IBRAHEEM (A.S) DISCOVERS ALLAH: (6: 74-83)

“And (remember) when Ibraheem said to his father Azar: “Do you take idols as aliha (gods)? Verily, I see you and your people in manifest error.” Thus did We show Abraham the kingdom of heavens and the earth that he be one of those who have Faith with certainty. When the night covered him over with darkness he saw a star. He said: “This is my lord.” But when it set, he said: “I like not those that set.”

And when he saw the moon rising, he said: “This is my lord.” But when it set, he said, “Unless my Lord guides me, I will surely be among the people gone astray.” And when he saw the sun rising, he said, “This is my lord; this is greater.”

But when it set, he said, “O my people, indeed I am free from what you associate with Allah. Indeed, I have turned my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth, inclining toward truth, and I am not of those who associate others with Allah.”

And his people argued with him. He said: “Do you argue with me concerning Allah while He has guided me? And I fear not what you associate with Him [and will not be harmed] unless my Lord should will something. My Lord encompasses all things in knowledge; then will you not remember?

And how should I fear what you associate while you do not fear that you have associated with Allah that for which He has not sent down to you any authority?

So which of the two parties has more right to security, if you should know? They who believe and do not mix their belief with injustice – those will have security, and they are [rightly] guided. And that was Our [conclusive] argument which We gave Abraham against his people. We raise by degrees whom We will. Indeed, your Lord is Wise and Knowing.”

IBRAHEEM (A.S.) REASONS WITH HIS FATHER: (19:42-46)

When he said to his father, “O my father, why do you worship that which does not hear and does not see and will not benefit you at all? O my father, indeed there has come to me of knowledge that which has not come to you, so follow me, I will show you a straight path. O my father, do not worship Satan. Indeed, Satan has ever been, to the Most Merciful, disobedient. O my father, indeed I fear that there will touch you a punishment from the Most Merciful so you would be to Satan a companion [in Hellfire].”

He (the father) said: “Do you reject my gods, O Ibraheem? If you stop not (this), I will indeed stone you. So get away from me safely before I punish you.”

IBRAHEEM (A.S.) Prayer for HIS FATHER: (19:47-48)

“May peace be upon you, I will ask forgiveness for my Lord, surely He is very good to me, and I will distance myself from you and from what you worship besides Allah, and I will pray to my Lord, hopefully I will not be disappointed with pray to my Lord.”

RELATIONSHIP OF FAITH IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE BLOOD RELATIONSHIP ( 9:114)

And the request of forgiveness of Ibraheem for his father was only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became apparent to Ibraheem that his father was an enemy to Allah, he disassociated himself from him. Indeed was Abraham compassionate and patient.

IBRAHEEM (A.S) CONFRONTATION WITH The King (2:258)

“Have you not considered the one who argued with Ibraheem about his Lord (merely) because Allah had given him kingship? When Ibraheem said, “My Lord is the one who gives life and causes death,” he said, “I give life and cause death. Ibraheem said, “Indeed, Allah causes the sun to rise from the east; so cause it to rise from the west.” So the disbeliever was utterly defeated. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.”

MIGRATION OF IBRAHEEM (A.S.): (29:26)

“So Lut believed in him. He said: “I will emigrate for the sake of my Lord. Verily, He is the All Mighty, the All Wise.”

IBRAHEEM’s (A.S) Prayer

(37:101)

“O my Lord! Grant me a righteous!”
So We gave him the good news of a forbearing boy.

(14:35-40)

Remember Ibraheem said: “O my Lord! make this city one of peace and security: and preserve me and my sons from worshipping idols.

“O my Lord! they have indeed led astray many among mankind; He then who follows my (ways) is of me, and he that disobeys me,- but Thou art indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley near Your sacred House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer. So make hearts among the people incline toward them and provide for them from the fruits that they might be grateful.

“O our Lord! truly Thou dost know what we conceal and what we reveal: for nothing whatever is hidden from Allah, whether on earth or in heaven.

Praise to Allah, who has granted to me in old age Ishmael and Isaac. Indeed, my Lord is the Hearer of supplication.

My Lord, make me an establisher of SALAT, and from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.

Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established.”

IBRAHEEM (A.S.) ASKED ALLAH ABOUT RESURRECTION: (2:260)

“Remember when Ibraheem said: ‘My Lord Show me how You give life to the dead.” Allah said: “Do you not believe?” Ibraheem said: “Yes I believe, but to be stronger in Faith.” He said: “Take four birds, the cause them to incline towards you (then slaughter them, cut them into pieces) and then put a portion of them on every hill and call them they will come to you in haste. And know that Allah is All Mighty and All Wise.”

STATUS Of IBRAHEEM A.S (37:108-111)

And We left for him among later generations:
“Peace upon Ibraheem.”
Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.

Glad Tidings to IBRAHEEM A.S (37:112-113)

And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous.
And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself

                                                                 “The significance of Abraham’s status”

Whose way is better than the one who peacefully focus for God while doing good deeds, and follows the principle of Abraham the sincere? God has chosen Abraham as a beloved friend. (4:125)
Indeed, Abraham was a nation of being faithful for God in sincerity, and he was not among the idolworshippers. Instead he appreciated God’s
blessings. God guided him to the straight path. We endowed him with goodness in this life and in the Hereafter he will be with the righteous. (16:120-122)
Thus, who would then forsake the principle of Abraham except those who fool themselves? We have chosen him in this world and in the Hereafter. He will be with the righteous. When his Lord said to him, “Be peaceful” he said, “I am peaceful for the Lord of the Universe.” (2:130-131)
When Abraham was put to the test by his Lord through certain words, he carried them out. God then said, “I am appointing you as the forefront
(imam) for all mankind.” (2:124)
A good example has been set for you by Abraham and those with him. They said to their people, “We disown you and your idols you set up besides God. We reject you and you will see from us nothing but enmity and opposition until you believe in God alone.” (60:4)

Our Duties

Say, “Indeed, my Lord has guided me to – a valuable system, Characteristics of Ibraheem-the Truth Seeker”

6:161

“Then, We have inspired you : “Follow the religion of Ibraheem, the Truth Seeker.”
16:123
