[Q. 2:196] “And (وَ) complete (أَتِمُّوا۟) the dialogue/discussion (ٱلْحَجَّ) and (وَ) the period/duration (ٱلْعُمْرَةَ) for God (لِلَّهِ ۚ). So if (فَإِنْ) you are confined (أُحْصِرْتُمْ), then what (فَمَا) will be found (ٱسْتَيْسَرَ) from (مِنَ) the guidance (ٱلْهَدْىِ). And (وَ) do not (لَا) escalate/shoot up (تَحْلِقُوا۟) your heads (رُءُوسَكُمْ) until (حَتَّىٰ) the guidance (ٱلْهَدْىُ) reaches (يَبْلُغَ) its proper place (مَحِلَّهُۥ ۚ). So, if any of you (فَمَن) would become (كَانَ) sick (مَّرِيضًا) or (أَوْ) or (أَوْ) with it (بِهِۦٓ) who (مِّن) has his major (رَّأْسِهِۦ) injury (أَذًى) – thus, a payoff (فَفِدْيَةٌ) from (مِّن) perseverance/abstinence (صِيَامٍ) or (أَوْ) contribution (صَدَقَةٍ) or (أَوْ) self-discipline/seeking refuge (نُسُكٍ ۚ).

Then when (فَإِذَآ) you are safe (أَمِنتُمْ), then who (فَمَن) has enjoyed (تَمَتَّعَ) with the period/duration (بِٱلْعُمْرَةِ) to (إِلَى) the dialogue/discussion (ٱلْحَجِّ), so far (فَمَا) what is available/easy (ٱسْتَيْسَرَ) from (مِنَ) the guidance (ٱلْهَدْىِ ۚ); whoever does not (فَمَن لَّمْ) – find (يَجِدْ) such a perseverance/abstinence (فَصِيَامُ) for three days (ثَلَـٰثَةِ) in (فِى) the days (أَيَّامٍ) of dialogue/discussion (ٱلْحَجِّ), and (وَ) seven (سَبْعَةٍ) when (إِذَا) you return (رَجَعْتُمْ). These (تِلْكَ) are complete (كَامِلَةٌ) ten (عَشَرَةٌ); that is (ذَٰلِكَ) for those (لِمَن) whose family (أَهْلُهُ) has not been (لَّمْ يَكُنْ) present/living (حَاضِرِى) at the Sanctioned Place of Submission (ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ). And (وَ) be constantly aware of (ٱتَّقُوا۟) God (ٱللَّهَ), and (وَ) know/note (ٱعْلَمُوٓا۟) that (أَنَّ) God (ٱللَّهَ) is severe (شَدِيدُ) in the punishment (ٱلْعِقَابِ).

[Q. 2:196] “And complete the dialogue/discussion and the period/duration for God. So, if you are confined, then what will be found from the guidance. And do not escalate/shoot up your heads until the guidance reaches its proper place. So, if any of you would become sick or with it who has his major injury – thus, a payoff from perseverance/abstinence or contribution or self-discipline/seeking refuge.

Then when you are safe, then who has enjoyed with the period/duration to the dialogue/discussion – so far what is available/easy from the guidance; whoever does not – find such a perseverance/abstinence for three days in the days of dialogue/discussion, and seven when you return. These are complete ten; that is for those whose family has not been present/living at the Sanctioned Place of Submission. And be constantly aware of God and know/note that God is severe in the punishment.

وَأَتِمُّوا۟ ٱلْحَجَّ وَٱلْعُمْرَةَ لِلَّهِ ۚ فَإِنْ أُحْصِرْتُمْ فَمَا ٱسْتَيْسَرَ مِنَ ٱلْهَدْىِ ۖ وَلَا تَحْلِقُوا۟ رُءُوسَكُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَبْلُغَ ٱلْهَدْىُ مَحِلَّهُۥ ۚ فَمَن كَانَ مِنكُم مَّرِيضًا أَوْ بِهِۦٓ أَذًى مِّن رَّأْسِهِۦ فَفِدْيَةٌ مِّن صِيَامٍ أَوْ صَدَقَةٍ أَوْ نُسُكٍ ۚ فَإِذَآ أَمِنتُمْ فَمَن تَمَتَّعَ بِٱلْعُمْرَةِ إِلَى ٱلْحَجِّ فَمَا ٱسْتَيْسَرَ مِنَ ٱلْهَدْىِ ۚ فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلَـٰثَةِ أَيَّامٍ فِى ٱلْحَجِّ وَسَبْعَةٍ إِذَا رَجَعْتُمْ ۗ تِلْكَ عَشَرَةٌ كَامِلَةٌ ۗ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن لَّمْ يَكُنْ أَهْلُهُۥ حَاضِرِى ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ

[Q. 2:197] “The hajj/dialogue/debate (ٱلْحَجَّ) is months (أَشْهُرٌ) of information (مَّعْلُومَـٰتٌ ۚ). So, whoever (فَمَن) took hajj/dialogue/debate (ٱلْحَجَّ) obligatory (فَرَضَ) therein (فِيهِنَّ), there is no (فَلَا) engagement (رَفَثَ), and (وَ) no (لَا) disobedience (فُسُوقَ), and (وَ) no (لَا) argument (جِدَالَ) during (فِى) the hajj/dialogue/debate (ٱلْحَجِّ ۗ), and whatever (وَمَا) good you do, God knows; and (وَ) maintain yourselves (تَزَوَّدُوا۟); in fact (فَإِنَّ), the best (خَيْرَ) of the maintenance (ٱلزَّادِ) is the constant awareness of God (ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ). And (وَ) you be constantly aware of God (ٱتَّقُونِ), O’ you who have understanding (يَـٰٓأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ).”

[Q. 2:197] “The hajj/dialogue/debate is months of information. So, whoever took hajj/dialogue/debate obligatory therein, there is no engagement, and no disobedience, and no argument during the hajj/dialogue/debate and whatever good you do, God knows; and maintain yourselves; in fact, the best of the maintenance is the constant awareness of God. And you be constantly aware of God, O’ you who have understanding.”

ٱلْحَجُّ أَشْهُرٌ مَّعْلُومَـٰتٌ ۚ فَمَن فَرَضَ فِيهِنَّ ٱلْحَجَّ فَلَا رَفَثَ وَلَا فُسُوقَ وَلَا جِدَالَ فِى ٱلْحَجِّ ۗ وَمَا تَفْعَلُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ يَعْلَمْهُ ٱللَّهُ ۗ وَتَزَوَّدُوا۟ فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ ٱلزَّادِ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ۚ وَٱتَّقُونِ يَـٰٓأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ
