QURAN 4:34 – THE TRUE MEANING & HISTORICAL MISREPRESENTATION[Q. 4:34]

The men (al/r-rijalu ٱلرِّجَالُ) are to stand (qouwamun-a قَوَّٰمُونَ) beside (a’la عَلَى) the women (al/n-nisa’ عَلَى) with that (bima’ بِمَا) bounty of (faddala فَضَّلَ) God (Allah ٱللَّهُ) as given some of them (ba’duhum بَعْضَهُمْ) over (a’la’ عَلَىٰ) others (ba’di بَعْضٍ) and with that (wa bima’ وَبِمَآ) they spend (an-fiqu’ أَنفَقُوا۟) of his money (amwalihim أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ ۚ). So (fa فَ), the virtuous women (el-sa’liha’ti ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتُ) are those women (qa’nita’tun قَـٰنِتَـٰتٌ) who are preserved (ha’fiza’tun حَـٰفِظَـٰتٌ) for the unseen (lil-gaibi لِّلْغَيْبِ) with that (bima’ بِمَا) God (Allah ٱللَّهُ) preserves (hafiz-a حَفِظَ) . And (wa وَ) in the event (e-llati’ ٱلَّـٰتِى) you are afraid of (takhafu’na تَخَافُونَ) their defiance/uncooperativeness (nushu’ja-hunna نُشُوزَهُنَّ), then advise them (fa-izu’hunna فَعِظُوهُنَّ) and (wa وَ) desert them (eh-juru’-hunna ٱهْجُرُوهُنَّ) in (fi فِى) the bed (mada’ji-ehi’ ٱلْمَضَاجِعِ) and (waوَ) separate them (edribu’hunna ٱضْرِبُوهُنَّ). So then/however (fa-in فَإِنْ), if they comply with you (ati’u’kum أَطَعْنَكُمْ), then do not (fala’ فَلَا) seek (tabgu’ تَبْغُوا۟) a way (sabi’lan سَبِيلًا) against them (a’lyhinna عَلَيْهِنَّ). Surely (inna إِنَّ), God (Allah ٱللَّهَ) is (ka’na كَانَ) High (A’liyyan عَلِيًّا), Great (Kabi’ran كَبِيرًا).

ٱلرِّجَالُ قَوَّٰمُونَ عَلَى ٱلنِّسَآءِ بِمَا فَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ وَبِمَآ أَنفَقُوا۟ مِنْ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ ۚ فَٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتُ قَـٰنِتَـٰتٌ حَـٰفِظَـٰتٌ لِّلْغَيْبِ بِمَا حَفِظَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ

وَٱلَّـٰتِى تَخَافُونَ نُشُوزَهُنَّ فَعِظُوهُنَّ وَٱهْجُرُوهُنَّ فِى ٱلْمَضَاجِعِ وَٱضْرِبُوهُنَّ ۖ فَإِنْ أَطَعْنَكُمْ فَلَا تَبْغُوا۟ عَلَيْهِنَّ سَبِيلًا ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيًّا كَبِيرًا
