[Q. 2:125] “And (wa وَ) so (iz’ إِذْ) WE made/assigned (jaäl’naa جَعَلْنَا) the institution/system (al-bai’ta ٱلْبَيْتَ ) receptive (mathaabatan مَثَابَةً) to people (lin’-na’si لِّلنَّاسِ)and (wa وَ) safe (am’nan أَمْنًا), and (wa وَ) they took (ettakhizu’ ٱتَّخِذُوا۟ ) a hallmark/characteristic (maqaami مَّقَامِ) from (min مِن) Abraham’s (Ib’raahiima إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ) eloquence/articulation (Musollan مُصَلًّى). And (wa وَ) WE had a covenant (a’hidna عَهِدْنَآ) with (ilaa إِلَىٰٓ) Abraham (Ib’raahiima إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ) and (wa وَ) Ishmael (Ismaa’eela إِسْمَـٰعِيلَ) that (an أَن):“Purify (johhiraa طَهِّرَا) MY institution/system (bai’tiya بَيْتِىَ) for those devoted groups (lit-toa’ifiina لِلطَّآئِفِينَ) and (wa وَ) the stressed (al-a’äkifiina ٱلْعَـٰكِفِينَ ) and (wa وَ) the humble (al/r-rukkae ٱلرُّكَّعِ) in the submission (al/s-sujuud ٱلسُّجُودِ).”
[Q. 2:125] “And so, WE assigned the institution/system receptive to the people and safe; and they took a hallmark/characteristic from Abraham’s eloquence/articulation.And WE had a covenant with Abraham and Ishmael that: “Purify MY institution/system for those freethinkers and the distressed and the humble in the submission.”
